Isaiah Turns 1!

June 2011 105
Mike and Maegan’s youngest little guy turns 1 today and his party was last Saturday and I think he takes the cake for the coolest party so far this year.  He not only had the brightest personality but the best entertainment for miles!

Maegan’s mom is quite the talented baker/decorator and Isaiah was quite pleased with his cake…so much so that when they took it away to cut it up, he was no longer the happiest dude at the party.  It was there one minute and gone the next…he was not happy!!

Isaac and Elianna took the moment to dig in behind Isaiah’s back…some day Isaiah, those little hands will be snatching cake away at Isaac’s party, just you wait little man.

But the real hit at the party wasn’t the cake or presents but a surprise much bigger!  Jamie and I had been in the market to find Papa Smurf a pony cart for his pony Ted.  His whole purpose for getting Ted was to give pony cart rides for the kiddo’s…only Papa Smurf.  Well, we surprised Papa Smurf earlier that day and I think his smile above says it all.  Needless to say whatever he had on his agenda for the rest of the day feel by the wayside after we arrived.  Mom and I arrived ahead of Papa Smurf and Jamie, following behind in the truck, and got the kids out on the street to watch Papa Smurf arrive in grand form.

Everyone was surprised by Ted’s arrival and couldn’t wait for a trot around the block.  Isaac was in no way thrilled about Ted or taking a ride with Pappy but after he got on, he wanted another ride.  Looks like Ted won everyone over.

Grammy helped to entertain Caleb while Lacey took the reins for a while and let Papa Smurf assist with the yummy chipsteak sandwiches and corn-on-the-cob we had for dinner.  The guys in my family sure know how to throw a yummy party.

I got dinner and a show as my seat between these two birds was quite entertaining.  I have no idea where Rachel comes up with the crossed legs or…

…the facial expressions.

Along with the blue eyes, many smiles, and drool…

Daddy and Isaiah again shared some shoulder time and I have to giggle every time this duo does this.  Isaiah is a nosey little bugger and after a few minutes up there he has to peek down and check out the guy whose carrying him.  Mike says he does this all the time…it’s hilarious!  They both ended up laughing quite a bit over it…to which my heart melted into a puddle of goo.
June 2011 118June 2011 127
Grammy got Isaiah this totally rad Scooby hat…ain’t he cute?!  Pappy had to have a little Isaiah time and we all had to laugh when he shook his head at Isaiah and Isaiah started mimicking him.  There was always about a 2 second pause before Isaiah repeated what Papa Smurf did…had us howling!

And just as Isaac had to wave goodbye to Ted as he drove off…this post has now come to an end…I know windy as ever!
June 2011 114

As a side note, my brother Jason took quite a few of these pictures and I think he did a fabulous job!  Thanks, Digger, for taking over for me so I could chase Isaac around the yard and soak up some drool...although what in the Sam Hill am I going to do with over a 1,000 pictures from this one event??  I think I'm going to teach you how to burn CD's and upload pictures since you're so shutter happy...that'll teach you not to take 1,000!! pictures next time...I may thank you but my computer's memory is not happy!!  (Maybe we should go into business together...we could name it Shutter Happy.)

It’s Only the Beginning…

June 2011 026

Memorial Day weekend had us celebrating not only the holiday but also the start of the summer parties.  And what better way to celebrate than on a brand new patio…my buddy Sonya and her husband Don recently had it put in and we were honored to be invited to the first party and what a paryt it was!  They have a gigantean back yard so as the adults huddled underneath table umbrella’s and tried to stay cool, the kids took over the back yard.  Don had made a huge slip ‘n slide and the heat eventually had some of the adults sliding down the yard with the kids.  It sure made for an entertaining night!

This is Sonya’s beautiful daughter…Victoria…gotta love that infectious smile!June 2011 010

And her son Adam…”Look Momma, I’m peeing”…leave it to a boy to add the gross factor to anything.June 2011 011

Father and son enjoying a trip down the slide.  I think Don would have won the award for best farmers tan…too bad you can’t really see the beauty of it these pictures.June 2011 024

Great form, Scott!June 2011 025

It’s the Matt Hatter sporting a rather different “hat” this time.  Have no fear, he still brought along his famous Amos hat.June 2011 022June 2011 027June 2011 028

The volley ball game rounded out the night for us.  (There was also a bonfire but we left before any “schmellows” were roasted.)  Thankfully my camera provides me with the perfect excuse to sit out on any contact sports…I’m sorry I can’t play AND take pictures and I know you want this documented to it’s fullest!  K-K is taking a photography course this summer as part of her college credits and she took the picture below…great job, my K-K!

June 2011 030

This post wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the little guy below…his name is Mason and I think he is one of the cutest little guy’s I’ve ever met!  He wanted to be included in the volley ball game and since there wasn’t much volley happening anyway, they stopped for a few minutes to let Mason “join in” the fun.  After Matt had put him back on the ground and he was walking away, he looked down, spotted Matt’s Amos hat and with a look like he had just found a pot of gold, snatched that puppy right up and off he ran with it…I about peed myself laughing at the whole ordeal…he had no idea whose hat he had just taken and that made it all the more funny!!  To make it better, he ran over to the playhouse, climbed the steps and threw the hat inside…he had found himself a treasure to be hidden!  He eventually lost his treasure to the Matt Hatter who doesn’t part with a hat easily…even if you’re cute!June 2011 029

And that concludes the first post for the 2011 Summer Party season…get ready for more adventures this summer from Me and Him!

Highlights

Life has certainly been busy lately and my blogging has been put on the back burner.  It probably doesn’t help that after finally getting a laptop to help assist with my photography the program I used to blog was no longer compatible with the system I purchased…so thanks to my hubby for letting me borrow his laptop we are finally back on track…well sort of.

In the last 2 months since I’ve last blogged I’ve had weddings galore, days spent with friends and family, and now that the weather is warmer, much work around the TW Inn.  So to get back on track, I’m going to give a recap of the first few weeks I missed.  I had the honor of attending a friend’s wedding on April 30 as well as being somewhat of a back-up photographer for her.  It was the first wedding I attempted to shoot and it was so fun!!  So the following pictures are from Amanda and Dustin’s wedding in Bethany Beach.  It was a beautiful day to celebrate a beautiful couple…unfortunately I wasn’t able to share all the pictures as there were several hundred, but I’m hoping to start up a Facebook page soon for my photography.

The following day my brother-in-law, Marco, got married.  Jamie was in the wedding and walked Rachel and Jessie down the aisle…I think one of my favorite pictures of the day was Rachel “hiding” behind Jamie’s arm as they walked down…that girl can be outgoing, but only when she wants to be!

Another favorite…Jamie with his Gram

And hubba, hubba….look out…my hubby sure does look good in a tux!!!  (I only wish he would have agreed to a tux as easily for our wedding…I sure shed quite a few tears over that one!)

Unfortunately our celebrating this wedding was cut a little short as my younger brother, Jason, had gotten a corneal abrasion earlier that day and I became designated driver/nurse for the rest of the evening.  The poor guy was miserable and as I’ve had one of those before, I understood his misery.  So while I have many pictures from the reception, no one quite knew how to operate my “fancy” camera so you’ll have to imagine the rest…as did I since I wasn’t there.

Last but certainly not least, a friend from work asked if I would take pictures of her and her son.  Of course, my answer was yes!  They came over to my house and after the grand tour I was able to get the following…thanks, Christa!  It was fun to meet your little guy and spend some time outside of work with you.
