Since our move to Montana and the place we now call home is no longer surrounded by more options to eat "out" than our deck out back, a date night has become a rare and treasured occasion. The last several months have been some of the toughest so far in our marriage and it seemed as though we had lost some of the spark. So when Jamie announced to me a week ago that I was to keep Monday night open because "we are going out", my wifie heart skipped a few beats. I felt like a teenager again, except not nearly as many butterflies were involved this time because whether he liked it or not, at the end of the night he was stuck with me regardless how well the date went.
Date night actually started out this afternoon when I recieved a call from my wonderful hubby wondering if I had gotten my "special delivery" yet. I had an instant smile and almost couldn't contain myself from going and sitting by the front door to await my surpirse. I didn't have to wait long before the front door opened and in walked my sexy man with a huge bouquet of flowers that he had picked out himself at the flower shop. (When we lived in PA, the girls at the flower shop knew him well because he always picked out his own bouquets for me, so the girls were all to happy to assist him once again.) I was beginning to feel like a queen! So we got slightly dolled up and my Mom was all to happy to capture a few pictures before we left. When we left I even got picked up at the door...what a gentleman!
He took me to El Serrano's in Lancaster. We had been there one other time for an anniversary and really enjoyed it. The setting is beautiful for a romantic evening. The lights were low, Christmas music was playing in the background and right outside the window by our table was a snow covered courtyard.
The whole evening was perfect and we had a wonderful conversation. I feel like we are finally tracking on the same page....in the same book. I couldn't have asked for a better date night or a better husband. He sure did knock one outta the park tonight and even got a high-five from his MIL when we returned.
Thanks for a beautiful evening together, Baby! I love the way you love me and I'm proud to call you husband. I look forward to growing old with you....you complete me and I'm a better woman because of you. XOXO
Oh that's sweet.....looking forward to seeing you the 3rd!!!
