50 and Fabulous!!!

Yesterday was my mom's 50th birthday and we spent the day together celebrating her and what a beautiful woman she is! Part of the day before was spent making whoopie pies together...well she made them, I provided the entertainment. And we had a great time doing it! Many laughs were shared and we made quite a few memories.
My mom can cook....man, can that woman make food taste like heaven! Her cooking is always comfort food for me and I enjoy watching her go at it. I am so thankful I was blessed with 2 parents who both enjoy cooking and passed on their talents. (I think my husband is glad for that too.) Yummy, don't they look tasty?!?
I love this picture of my mom. She is in her element and I think that smile is beautiful! Don't you?

We started mom's birthday with breakfast with my grandparents. Again, many laughs were shared...as you can see by my grandpa's smile. (Love it!) We then headed to the second hand store my grandparents voluneteer for and had a great time seeing what they do. We had a few other places we visited in between and then in the afternoon we did a little pampering. Nothing like a pedicure with a good friend to soothe the soul and make "happy toes"!

We had a wonderful day together and I will treasure the memories! I'm so thankful for my mom. She is one of my closest friends and I will miss her dearly when I move. She has graciously stood by me through everything and still loves me at the end of the day. I love her spirit and her spunk! Mom, here's to another year and truly being "50 and fabulous!" I love you!

Welcome to the Big Sky!

It's hard to believe that almost five years ago my life began a journey that has now led me through many changes and challenges but in just a few short weeks I'll be facing the biggest challenge yet. I will be joining my husband in Montana where I left him on June 2nd to fly back home and finish up work and say my goodbyes. Jamie and I will celebrate our 5th anniversary this September and we had always talked about moving to Montana, where he lived for about 2 years before we met, but now it is finally a reality and hopefully the start to living out our dreams.
This is the sexy man I left behind a few weeks ago and my heart is aching to be back with him again! He is truly my soul mate, my lover, and my best friend. He has waited patiently these last five years for my heart to finally find a peace about moving so far from home and those I love.
This is the home we left behind. We are looking forward to having a....gigantic!!! back yard that has more livestock than humans. We liked our townhouse, but we did not enjoy sharing a back yard with 20 other people, dogs and whatever else happened to be roaming through.
This is the place we will call our new home. The scenery will be drastically different, but how can you not fall in love with this?
Instead of seeing rooftop clouded sunsets, this is the view we have to look forward too. The sky really is bigger in Montana! Come see for yourself sometime.
I am also looking forward to seeing these two furry creatures! They traveled 1,800 miles with us in May when we moved all our things out and were perfect little angels. (That's not always the case). Apparently they dug a 3 foot hole under the cage Jamie and I built them just to try and escape...thankfully they didn't succeed. Jamie only found their "tunnel" because he fell into it. Don't worry, no injuries where reported...at least not due to the hole. Gotta love 'em!
